Slowpoke Other!

For the stuff that doesn't fit anywhere else! At the bottom you'll find Pokemon Time!

Pokemon Center Shopping Bag

Picture
Origin: Japan
Pokemon Center

Released in March 2009 (I have to double-check the year) for Slowpoke month, Slowpoke was awarded his own large shopping bag! 10,000 were given (per center?) to customers shopping at the time. I'm glad I got this sooner rather than later, since who knows how rare this may become in the future! People don't tend to keep these things around :D

Pokemon ANA Bento

Picture
Origin: Japan
ANA 1999

A Pokemon-themed bento (lunch) box sold at ANA airports in 1999! I thought it was interesting because Slowpoke is in a OH-SO-SLIGHTLY different pose from his usual stock pose. It may only be slight, but I think it gives him a lot more energy. This must have been some of the really early Johto releases! I'd like the own the model plane too, one day.

Even for bento, which are pretty small already, this one is REALLY small!

Yum yum yum!

Pokémon Badge 151 (2000)

Picture
Origin: Japan

Released for only a short time at Japan Pokémon Centers in 2000, all the original 151 were given pins with (most of the time) brand new, awesome art. For some reason, Slowpoke was gypped out of new art, but whatever. I got a couple other ones from this series to make up for it.

The reason why it's rare is because the Pokémon Centers would switch out their stock ALL THE TIME. They made sure to make it VERY difficult to find the one you were looking for.

Pokemon 2000 Pin

Picture
Origin: Australia

This little bugger had evaded me for the longest time! A long time ago a seller had promised me a whole set with Slowpoke in it for me to buy, and then dropped the sale. I still am unclear about what happened, since she had it in hand at the time.
Fast forward, and another single popped up! I get into a fierce and bitter bidwar over this fella, throwing everything I had at it, since I was tired about getting whipped around by this guy.
Now it's mine forever and I don't have to worry about it anymore! It may just be a dumb pin to some people, but this thing and I have a history, now.

"Slowpoke's Big Yawn" (1998?)

Picture
Origin: Japan

A little kiddy storybook designed for people with basic Japanese understanding. I need to get on translating this.

It's about the events of the day that pass while Slowpoke spends the whole day yawning. Yes, he is SO SLOW, that it takes A WHOLE DAY TO YAWN.

English printers must have decided that this one was too boring to translate and publish into English, since I've seen a bunch of the other ones from the series in a language that I can understand, but not this one.

Slowpoke Line Watch (2001-ish)

Picture
Origin: Japan

This was one of those things that I saw on Yahoo!Japan, mint in box, and decided to keep procrastinating on. Sure enough, someone else came up and bought it!

A while later I see one come up again without it's box, and I snatched that one up for myself.

Slowpoke Chopstick Rest

Picture
Origin: Japan

I don't know the exact date of creation, but I believe it's on the more recent side of things. (2008 - 10?) I could be wrong, so if anyone knows the real year, let me know!

This is so much smaller than you think it is. But I really love the graphic!

Slowpoke Bank (1998?)

Picture
Origin: Japan

Wouldn't really call this rare, but I haven't seen one for a while. It's not very big, but it holds my laundry quarters just fine!

Slowpoke Squirter

Picture
Origin: US/UK

Made by a really obscure company called Playfully Yours, I think this is supposed to be a bath toy. It's not a squirter or anything though, since all the holes are on the bottom. It had a lot of interesting other ones in the series. I like this guy-- he's made well and I like what they did to the mouth.

He also has a smaller, identical twin.

Slowpoke Squirter Jr.

Picture
Origin: US/UK

Also made by Playfully Yours, this one is just the smaller version of the jumbo squirter guy.

I shall call him, Mini-Poke.

Slowpoke Bound Ball

Picture
Origin: Japan

This is what happens when you invest in transparent Pokéballs.

He doesn't even bounce.

"Pokémon Super Ball Collection Light"
(ポケモン スーパーボールコレクション他)

Picture
Origin: Japan

Yay, I finally have one! I don't know if the kanji is being translated properly, but no part of this guy lights up. It's just a sleeping Slowpoke trapped in a bouncing ball :D

He's the absolute cutest, and I never would have gotten him if it wasn't for someone else's help ;w; thank you!

Tomy Gacha Plastic Magnet series 2 (1998)
(くっつくんです 2)

Picture
Origin: Japan

Released in gashapon machines in 1998, this is actually a rare pose for the time! It's on the smaller side, but it's so cute :)

Picture

Battrio (2009/10)

Picture
Origin: Japan

I think you're supposed to battle with these? They look like pogs on steroids.

New art, though! Woooo

Upon further investigation, these are to be used in Battrio machines for battling, I think. The red and white mean these guys are common. (Woe!)

Slowpoke Battle Coin

Picture
Origin: Japan

One of two released battle coins, I think the way you play this one is to flip your coin. I'm not entirely sure about the specifics, unfortunately.

I have the other one, but I need to take a picture of them together!

Spinning coin thing (1998-99?)

Picture
Origin: US

It's a coin! It spins!

I don't know much about this game, but I know you spin and try to hit the other coin with yours.

Tazos/Pog things

Picture
Origin: Europe?

Pretty sure these are European. The one on the left is a changer and goes through all the Slows when you tilt it.

Tomy figure pogs

Picture
Origin: US

Haha! Ohhh, these came with the Tomy figures you would buy back in 1998. That must have been back when pogs were still cool.

Oh god I'm old.

Slowbro pog

Picture
Origin: Japan

I got this as a bonus, so I don't know what this is from! It has a snapshot of a Slowpoke episode, in which they never fail to be absolutely adorable.

Slowpoke Kraks

Picture
Origin: everywhere but the US

I have no idea how this game works! But I have them in purple, light blue, and dark blue. Gotta find the other colors.

Pokémon Staks

Picture
Origin: not US

I don't much about Staks, just that they're English or European and are a magnet.

Slowpoke / Teddiursa / Oddish Honey Candy Tin

Picture
Origin: Japan
Pokemon Center

For a while, I thought this was released in 2009 along with the rest of the Slowpoke-refresh stuff. When I got it in my hands, I looked on the back of it and read that the expiration date (for the candy) was back in 2003! The tin had a copyright for 2002, so that's when this tin was released! It's interesting to me how long that pose has been around.

I love the design of the tin-- there's a hinge on the back!

Tomy Slowbro Christmas Tree

Picture
Origin: Japan

This is what happens when a Christmas tree bites a Slowpoke's tail.

Slowpoke or Slowbro? In my mind, it's still Slowpoke, but I'm willing to give on this one. This is my favorite holiday item ever, and is insanely clever to me. Look at those little ornaments on his tail!

Picture

Slowking Sticker-tape

Picture
Origin: Japan

As I've said before, I'm not a huge fan of Slowking. But this little thing made him look really cute!

When you unwind it, you have a couple different poses of Slowking, Marill, Togepi, and Pikachu. Cute cute cute!

Pokemon Time!

There isn't enough gear yet to warrant it's own section, but if more is released, then it will be! Pokemon Time is a unique brand of stylized Pokemon released exclusively through the Pokemon Center. They usually get a lot of merchandise-- including clothing! This round has been a bit lackluster, but maybe they're not through yet.

Slowpoke Bank

Picture
Origin: Japan
Pokemon Center 2010

daksdjhaskjdashda

this bank

is the best bank.

The coloring is wonderful, the expression is adorable, and it's made of ceramic!

Slowpoke Phone Charm

Picture
Origin: Japan
Pokemon Center 2010

Look at this charm and tell me it's not adorable.

These charms also come with a random card, and mine came with Jumpluff. Unsatisfied, I asked around until I found someone with a Slowpoke card and got that instead. :D I'll take pictures when it arrives!

Slowpoke Clearfile

Picture
Origin: Japan
Pokemon Center 2010

It's a clearfile!

Not much more than that, sadly. Though so adorable!

Slowpoke Note Pad

Picture
Origin: Japan
Pokemon Center 2010

A notepad! The insides have slowpoke-themed pages, which I forgot to take pictures of. Doh.
